An essential oil is a plant extract that contains the basis of the plant in its most concentrated form. Essential oil molecules are very small, so they can easily pass through hair follicles which contain sebum, an oily liquid relatively similar to essential oils. From there they are absorbed in the bloodstream or reach the lymph and the interstitial fluid.

Winter Fairy Tale, an essential oil containing orange, silver fir, lemon and grapefruit, can be used in aroma lamps to fill your living space with a pleasant scent.

Use

Put a few drops of the essential oil in an aroma lamp or simply put them on a piece of fabric.

Result

By breathing in the oil, essential oil molecules enter through the alveoli into blood capillaries and reach the circulatory system, from where their healing effect takes place. Regardless of whether they are absorbed through the skin or breathed in, the essences that reach the bloodstream can have a pharmacological effect, even when only a small amount of the substance is absorbed. Essential oils have a stimulating, regenerative and soothing effect. Whether they are used in skincare products or for aromatherapy, their healing properties have a beneficial effect on the body, while the beauty of their fragrance will liven your spirits and inspire a feeling of joyfulness.

Health and beauty advice

When left out in the open, essential oils evaporate into the air like mist. You can recognise a real essential oil when you pour a drop on a paper napkin: after it evaporates, it will not leave any kind of trace. Essential oils must not be used on the skin in undiluted form.
